Organizing

Lesson 1 Module 1

Efficient Editing starts with organizing your data. 

Instead of bringing in video clips, audio, pictures, graphics, etc... from different folders copy everything into a main folder. 

I always create a new folder for each project, then inside of that folder I'll put more folders for video, audio, and other assets.

By doing this it keeps everything in one place. If I ever need to open the project back up, I know to go to that folder and everything is in there.

Once you have started a project, don't move any files. If you move a file then your editing software will lose track of it and you will have to re-link each file that was moved.

By putting everything in one folder, it's not as likely that a you will misplace any footage or assets. 

Stay organized at all costs!
